How We Met
Depending on which of us you ask, the "how we met story" is slightly different. Essentially, we met on April 10, 2001 at an after-work party for Barry's department .
After a few mixed signals and several conversations, Barry finally asked Laura out for their first date on May 23, 2001. It's pretty much been smooth sailing since then!
Our Engagement
 | It happened the evening of September 5, 2003 at Grey's Lake in Des Moines. After a picnic dinner by the lake and a romantic stroll over the lighted bridge, Barry asked Laura to marry him. And, of course she said, "Yes!" |
About the Bride & Groom
Laura
Laura moved to Des Moines from Omaha, NE after high school to pursue her Bachelor's degree at Drake University. After graduation, Laura accepted a position with the Principal Financial Group in one of their many marketing areas. Laura recently went back to Drake part-time and received her Master's degree this December.
Barry
During high school, Barry moved from East Bethel, MN to Waukee, IA with his family. After finishing high school, Barry attended the University of Iowa (Go Hawks!) to pursue his Bachelor's degree in business administration majoring in Management Information Systems(MIS). Upon graduation Barry moved back to Des Moines to work for the Principal Financial Group as a computer programmer.
After a few good years at the company, Barry decided he needed a change of pace and went into the floor covering business. Currently, Barry works for Georgia Carpet Outlet (GCO) in Des Moines.
